The American Council for Ethical AI (ACEAI) is a Washington, D.C.–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the responsible, transparent, and human-centered development of Artificial Intelligence. The Council works to ensure that AI technologies are designed and deployed ethically, strengthening public trust, accountability, and societal benefit across all sectors. ACEAI collaborates with hundreds of organizations and experts worldwide to expand access to ethical AI standards, governance practices, and education.
ACEAI is governed by an Advisory Board composed of distinguished leaders with experience across the U.S. Department of Defense, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boeing, the Better Business Bureau, Rotary International, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force, SUNY, Johns Hopkins University, American University, Verizon, CACI, the Fulbright Program, George Washington University, and other organizations in the private sector and the nonprofit/NGO community.
The mission of the American Council for Ethical AI is to promote the responsible and transparent use of Artificial Intelligence through education, oversight, collaboration, and recognition.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Helps organizations confidently adopt AI through responsible, transparent, and practical workflows. This AI platform features a comprehensive prompt library, thousands of workflows, and a suite of customizable AI agents.
Evaluates and ranks organizations in responsible and effective AI adoption. The program assesses innovation and ethical implementation, based on verified reporting and adherence to the Council’s ethical framework.
Enables individuals to confidentially report unethical or unlawful uses of Artificial Intelligence, ensuring that each submission is independently reviewed and addressed to advance accountability and protect the public interest.
Recognizes and celebrates organizations and individuals that demonstrate integrity, creativity, and transparency in AI development, inspiring others to follow ethical AI standards.
Builds active collaborations with universities and companies to conduct research, offer internships, and implement best-practice frameworks that guide the responsible design, testing, and use of AI.
Enables researchers, educators, and AI professionals to get their work published and promoted through a growing network of academic, industry, and policy outlets dedicated to ethical innovation.

The American Council for Ethical AI (ACEAI) provides independent Ethical AI Verification to organizations seeking to demonstrate responsible, transparent, and trustworthy AI practices. The Advisory Board—composed of senior leaders from academia, industry, ethics, and consumer protection—reviews governance policies, risk-mitigation procedures, and the ethical deployment of AI technologies. Through this verification process, organizations can strengthen accountability, build public trust, and align their AI systems with recognized ethical standards.
The American Council for Ethical AI (ACEAI) has joined ASAE, the leading organization for association leadership in the United States. ASAE, also known as The Center for Association Leadership, represents more than 48,000 association executives and provides research, education, and best practice resources for nonprofits and professional societies. Membership in ASAE gives ACEAI access to respected leadership networks that support its mission to advance ethical Artificial Intelligence across sectors.


The AI Action Center is an AI platform developed by the American Council for Ethical AI (ACEAI) to help organizations confidently adopt Artificial Intelligence through responsible, transparent, and practical workflows.
